OREGON CITY AND MILWAUKIE – Clackamas Community College will be the site of two free flu clinics and community wellness fairs on Oct. 29 and Nov. 4, offering community members flu shots, blood pressure checks and help connecting with health care resources. Both events are open to the public, and no insurance is required.
The events are a partnership between Clackamas Free Clinic, CCC’s Health Sciences and Neighborhood Health Center.
CCC nursing students will administer flu shots and provide blood pressure checks. Neighborhood Health Center will help attendees enroll in the Oregon Health Plan (OHP), sign up for services and navigate care options. Clackamas Free Clinic will provide information about its free primary care, vision, behavioral health and other services, answer questions about eligibility, and help uninsured and underinsured adults connect with health services, provide blood pressure screenings and distribute free health and wellness items to attendees.
“As flu season approaches, we want to make it easy for community members to get a flu shot, regardless of whether they have insurance,” Lisa Steenson, executive director of Clackamas Free Clinic, said. “These events are also an opportunity to ask questions, connect with local health resources and get support for staying healthy.”
The clinics and wellness fairs will take place:
- Thursday, Oct. 29, noon to 4 p.m., at CCC’s Harmony campus, 7738 SE Harmony Road, Milwaukie.
- Wednesday, Nov. 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Wacheno Welcome Center on CCC’s Oregon City campus, 19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City.
