Industry Partners Sought For Manufacturing Day At CCC (Photo) - 09/14/26

OREGON CITY — Clackamas Community College, in collaboration with Clackamas Workforce Partnership, Clackamas Education Service District, South Metro-Salem STEM Partnership and We Boil the Ocean, is inviting local manufacturers and skilled trades employers to help introduce the next generation of workers to career opportunities during Manufacturing Day 2026.

The event, themed “Explore the Trades,” will be held Friday, Oct. 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the college’s Oregon City campus. Up to 1,000 middle and high school students are expected to attend.

Participating businesses can connect with students and showcase their industries in several ways:

  • Host a hands-on booth or interactive demonstration at the event.
  • Offer students a behind-the-scenes tour of their facilities.
  • Sponsor the event and support career exploration activities.

Manufacturing Day gives employers an opportunity to help students understand what modern manufacturing and skilled trades careers look like. Through direct interaction with industry professionals, students can learn about the technology, skills, education and career pathways behind the products and services they see every day.

The event also helps businesses build connections with local schools and educators while encouraging students to consider careers that support the region’s workforce needs.

Manufacturing Day will take place in the Holden Industrial Technology Center at Clackamas Community College, 19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City.

Businesses and industry partners are asked to register by Friday, Sept. 25. To participate or sponsor the event, complete the registration form at https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/JDUihwjsiz. For questions or more information, contact Julie Gassner at Julie.gassner@clackamas.edu.

This event is sponsored by Portland General Electric.
