News Release
CCC wrestling holds online fundraiser - 09/08/21

OREGON CITY - Since the fall of 2012 the Clackamas Community College's annual Crab Feed and Auction fundraiser has helped the college's wrestling program produce some amazing results on the mat, in the classroom and on the recruiting trail. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the Crab Feed and Auction was canceled in 2020, and it is canceled again this year.

In its place, the college held an online fundraiser last year, and thanks to the generous donations of the community and wrestling supporters, the program raised $40,000.

This year, the three-time national champions will hold another online fundraiser, with the goal of raising another $40,000 to support the team. Money raised will directly help fund the wrestling program. These donations impact the college's ability to outfit the team, travel, gain exposure for the athletes, and continue to recruit excellent talent for the coming year.

“Without the revenue we generate from our events, we worry that we will give up ground that took 15 years to gain,” CCC Wrestling Coach Josh Rhoden said. “Your continued investment is instrumental in maintaining the type of program we have all come to know and love.”

For the past decade, CCC wrestling has been synonymous with success. Not just success on the wrestling mat but in the classroom as well. Student-athletes have earned a two-year graduation and transfer rate of 75% all while providing the campus community with the on-the-mat success that is unmatched.

Since the 2010-11 season, CCC wrestling has either won the National Championship or finished as the National Runner Up on seven occasions. The other four finishes were fourth, third, third and sixth respectively. The team has additionally won seven National Dual Meet Championships, and during this time the wrestlers have produced 74 All-Americans. This success is directly related to the giving the college receives from the community.

"Help us continue to produce high-quality wrestlers, students and young men," Rhoden said. "Help us overcome adversity and move into the next decade of dominance."
