"Social. Art. Work." opens in the Alexander Gallery (Photo) - 10/18/18

OREGON CITY – Clackamas Community College will host the work of Portland-based artist Pippa Arend, Nov. 5-Dec. 7 in the Alexander Gallery.

Arend is the co-founder of p:ear, an organization that mentors Portland’s homeless youth. “Social. Art. Work.” is an exhibition of Arend’s pen and ink portraits inspired by the youth she has worked with over the last 17 years. The exhibition is supported by the MacArthur Fellowship prize.

The public is invited to an artist’s reception Tuesday, Nov. 6, noon-1 p.m., at the Alexander Gallery. Arend will speak about her work at 1 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

The Alexander Gallery is free and open to the public, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with the exception of campus holidays. The gallery is located in the Niemeyer Center on the Oregon City campus, 19600 Molalla Ave.
