Scholarships Fundraiser for CBC Students on October 10
Tickets Available for the Game-Show-Themed Event

PASCO, Wash. – Community members can make a difference in the lives of Columbia Basin College students by attending an event to raise money for scholarships.

The CBC Foundation is hosting its annual Power of Connection dinner and auction on Thursday, October 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Red Lion in Pasco. Tickets are available through October 4 at columbiabasin.edu/powerofconnection2024.

This year’s event has a game-show theme, and the Foundation team encourages friend and colleague groups to wear matching shirts to join the fun. Guests can test their skills at games, have the chance to be a contestant in the main show and bid on auction items. A CBC student will also share his story, highlighting how the support he’s received has transformed his college journey.

The money raised will help provide more scholarships for CBC Hawks this fall. Every donation significantly assists students in reaching their educational goals.

“Scholarships boost graduation rates,” said Erin Fishburn, CEO of the CBC Foundation. “Students who receive a CBC Foundation scholarship are 42% more likely to complete a degree here within three years, and our donors make that possible.”

Attendees can bid on 10 live auction items, including a stocked wine rack designed and fabricated by students from the CBC Welding program, a private dinner for eight at Fiction @ J. Bookwalter, Seattle Kraken tickets, a Pendleton Whiskey Music Fest VIP experience and other must-have packages.

Dozens of silent auction items will be available for bidding online and at the event. Some items include Seattle Aquarium tickets, a wine and truffle pairing basket and a spa basket.

For more information and to purchase tickets, visit columbiabasin.edu/powerofconnection2024.
