Bend Police Arrest Male For Several Local Thefts - 09/26/26

Offenses – 2 Counts of Theft I, Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, Criminal Mischief II and Offensive Littering.
Narrative:
On 09/22/2026, Bend Police Officers were notified of a theft from a motor vehicle located at the Current apartments at 954 SW Emkay Drive in Bend. The theft of items from the vehicle was determined to be over $5,000. An investigation was initiated and through video surveillance a possible residence of interest was identified as apartment 103 in the Current apartment complex.
Bend Police Officers were able to identify the occupant of the residence and subsequent suspect as Michael Demayo, 06/30/1999. Demayo was also identified as being the suspect in thefts from Fred Meyer on 09/18/2026 and 09/22/2026 and Petco on 09/23/2026.
On 09/24/2026 a search warrant for Michael Demayo’s residence 954 SW Emkay Dr. #103, was granted and executed. The result of the warrant service was a significant amount of stolen property being recovered to include the discovery of an additional theft from Big 5. Demayo was later located, arrested and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail.
Due to the nature of the crimes and, out of an abundance of caution, there was a large police presence during the service of search warrant.
Officers will continue to work on identifying stolen items and the investigation is ongoing. Additional charges are expected.
