Incident: Bend man arrested for SE Bend burglaries, theft

Arrested: Michael Scott Delay, 38-year-old Bend resident 
Offenses: Burglary I x4, Theft I

At approximately 8:33 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, Bend Police received a report from a homeowner in the 20800 block of SE Denver Drive reporting her home had been broken into and items stolen. 

Responding officers canvassed the neighborhood and found that the burglary suspect was on surveillance video attempting to enter four other homes in the area. 

With assistance from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was identified as 38-year-old Bend resident Michael Scott Delay. Bend officers had also contacted Delay on Aug. 13 for walking in the road less than 2 miles from the Aug. 14 burglary on SE Denver Drive.

At approximately 7:37 p.m., Redmond Police located Delay in the area of NE Blackfoot Court and took him into custody. 

Delay was arrested on suspicion of four counts of first-degree burglary and one count of first-degree theft and transported to the Deschutes County Jail.
