Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Train Near Reed Market Rd.

Incident: Pedestrian fatally struck by train near Reed Market Rd.
Location: 1100 block of SE Reed Market Rd.
At approximately 4:38 a.m. on Monday, July 20, Bend Police received a call that a BNSF train conductor reported a pedestrian was struck by a train near the intersection with Reed Market Rd.
When officers arrived the northbound train was stopped, blocking both directions of Reed Market Rd. Officers found an unconscious man on the west side of the railroad tracks and immediately began CPR. The man was transported by Bend Fire to St. Charles where he later died from his injuries.
Reed Market Rd. was closed in both directions for approximately two hours during an investigation by Bend Police and BNSF Railway. This is an ongoing investigation, and the name of the man is being withheld until his family is notified.
