Man Critically Injured In Vehicle V Pedestrian Crash On NE Third Street - 10/18/25

Incident: Man critically injured in vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on NE Third Street 

Date / Time of Incident: Oct. 17, 2025 / 8:16 p.m. 

Location: NE Third Street between Thurston and Underwood avenues 

Victim: 26-year-old Bend resident  

 

At approximately 8:16 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, Bend Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on NE Third Street near Thurston Avenue.  

 

When officers arrived, they found a white RAV4 stopped in the northbound lanes of NE Third Street and a man with severe injuries in the road. Officers performed lifesaving care on the victim, later identified as a 26-year-old Bend resident, until Bend Fire medics arrived and transported him to St. Charles, where he remains in critical condition.  

 

The driver, a 61-year-old Idaho man, called 911 to report he had been driving northbound on NE Third Street and had hit a man crossing the road with a bike. The driver was cooperative and remained on scene. 

 

Third Street was closed in both directions between Revere and Underwood avenues for about 2.5 hours as the Bend Police traffic reconstruction team conducted its investigation. The investigation is ongoing. At this time, no citations have been issued in this incident.
