Bend Man Arrested After Shots Fired In Domestic Dispute - 12/20/24

Arrested: Jacob Tyler Franke, 37-year-old Bend resident

Offenses: Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing, Coercion, Pointing a Firearm at Another, Assault IV, Recklessly Endangering Another Person 

At approximately 9:07 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, Bend Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute involving a firearm in the 61000 block of SE Manhae Loop. 

When officers arrived, they found a woman and three children outside the residence. The family members reported that the man, identified as 37-year-old Jacob Tyler Franke, had fired two rounds from a handgun and was still inside the home.  

Officers applied for a search warrant to enter the home, and the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team responded to the scene and cleared the residence. They found no one inside but did find evidence of shots fired inside the home. A search of the surrounding area for Franke was unsuccessful. 

At approximately 8:10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, Bend Police learned Franke was at a friend’s home in the 3600 block of NE Desert Juniper Lane. Officers set up a perimeter. The friend left the residence in a black Tesla at approximately 8:25 a.m. with Franke as a passenger, and the driver pulled over on Hamby Road near Paloma Drive. 

Franke cooperated and was taken into custody at 8:28 a.m. He was lodged at the Deschutes County Jail on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, coercion, pointing a firearm at another, fourth-degree assault and recklessly endangering another person.
