Incident: One seriously injured in vehicle vs. bicycle crash on Skyliners Road

Location: NW Skyliners Road at NW Lemhi Pass Drive, Bend
At approximately 7:47 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, Bend Police were dispatched to a serious injury crash on NW Skyliners Road at the intersection of NW Lemhi Pass Drive.
When officers arrived, they learned that a blue Subaru Legacy was traveling eastbound on Skyliners Road when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Lemhi Pass Drive, colliding with a cyclist traveling westbound on Skyliners Road.
The cyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to St. Charles Bend. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with officers.
The Bend Police crash reconstruction team is on scene investigating the incident, and Skyliners Road remains closed between Mt. Washington Drive and NW 17th Street. NW Lemhi Pass Drive is closed at the intersection of Skyliners Road. The public is asked to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
