UPDATE: Motorcyclist Cited For DUII In Parkway Crash - 08/28/24

UPDATE: After an investigation, Oregon State Police cited the motorcyclist, 21-year-old Kyle Anthony Andre, for DUII-alcohol.

Incident: Motorcycle crash closes southbound lanes of Bend Parkway

Date / Time of Incident: Aug. 27, 2024 / 7:26 p.m.

Location: Bend Parkway southbound lanes at Reed Lane

Driver: 21-year-old Bend resident

At approximately 7:26 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, Bend Police responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of the Bend Parkway near Reed Lane.  

According to witnesses, a motorcycle reportedly rolled multiple times and the operator, later identified as a 21-year-old Bend resident, was thrown from the motorcycle off the west side of the Parkway down an embankment. 

Bend Police officers provided medical care to the motorcycle operator until Bend Fire & Rescue arrived on scene. The motorcyclist was transported to St. Charles Bend and is expected to survive. Oregon State Police is also investigating the crash. 

Both southbound lanes of the Bend Parkway were closed for approximately 30 minutes during this incident. One lane remained closed until approximately 8:56 p.m.
