UPDATE: Man Arrested For Murder In The Suspicious Death Investigation Near North U.S. Highway 97 - 05/31/24
UPDATE:
When Bend Police Detectives arrived on scene at the suspicious death investigation on May 30th they observed what appeared to be suspicious injuries to David Carroll Hickman. An autopsy was performed on May 31st, which revealed Hickman had several injuries. Bend Police Detectives continued the investigation and determined 31-year old male Brian Lee Wynn was a person of interest. Wynn was contacted this afternoon in Bend and was later lodged at the Deschutes County Jail for Murder in the 2nd degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The investigation is ongoing.
UPDATE: The deceased has been identified as David Carroll Hickman, a 62-year-old Bend resident. The investigation is ongoing.

Incident: Investigation underway in suspicious death near North U.S. Highway 97
Location: 3300 block of N U.S. Highway 97, Bend
At approximately 9:26 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, Bend Police responded to a request for a welfare check in the 3300 block of North U.S. Highway 97. When officers arrived, they found a man dead in a ditch to the west of the Pacific Pride gas station.
At this time, the man’s death is being investigated as suspicious. His identity will not be released until next of kin has been notified.
