Bend Police Arrest Man After Shooting -06/05/22

Suspect: Kevin Baessler, 48-year-old Bend resident

Victim:  35-year-old female Bend resident

Charges: Assault II, Reckless Endangering, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Pointing a firearm at another

On June 5, 2022 at approximately 12:47 a.m., Bend Police and Bend Fire & Rescue responded to a residence in the 63000 block of Hunters Circle on a report of a female who had been shot. The female victim was transported to St. Charles Bend by ambulance with serious injuries that were later determined to be non-life-threatening. 

The investigation revealed Kevin Baessler shot the female victim with a handgun at the home. Baessler was taken into custody without incident. Alcohol was determined to be a factor in the shooting.  Baessler was later transported to the Deschutes County Jail on Assault II, Reckless Endangering, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Pointing a firearm at another. 

A subsequent search warrant was executed by investigators at the residence where additional evidence was located.
