Suspect: Michael Mayorga-Cano 35-year-old Bend resident
Narrative:
On March 25th, 2022 at 1:00pm, Bend Police Officers responded to the 600 block of NE 4th Street for the report of a burglary at a residence. Neighbors were able to get a picture of the suspect who committed the burglary. Several items were reported stolen from inside of the residence. Officers were able to work on the identification of a suspect based on evidence left on scene. The suspect was identified as Michael Mayorga-Cano.
On March 28th at 8:50am, Bend Police Officers were dispatched to 256 NE Franklin (7-11) as an employee noticed a person in the business that the employee was told by police was a suspect in this referenced burglary. Mayorga-Cano left the business prior to the arrival of officers, but he was contacted behind a business in the 800 block of NE 3rd Street. During the contact, Mayorga-Cano was placed into custody for the burglary on NE 4th Street. Officers located evidentiary items from the burglary on March 25th in the possession of Mayorga-Cano.
Mayorga-Cano was transported to the Deschutes County Jail, where he was lodged on charges including Burglary I, Theft I, Criminal Mischief II and a felony Probation Violation.
