Burglar Arrested with Help of Police K9 - 01/23/22

Incident:    Burglar Arrested with Help of Police K9

Case Number:    2022-00004275

Location:  61085 S. Hwy 97 Bend, OR 97702 (Les Schwab Tire Center)

Suspect:  Michael A. Bray             31-year-old                Bend, OR resident

Victim:  Les Schwab Tire Center (Bend South)

On January 22nd at 1730 hours, Bend Police responded to the Les Schwab south Tire Center (61085 S. HWY 97) for reports of a suspicious male who was entering an employee vehicle in the parking lot. Les Schwab was closed for business at this time. Prior to officers' arrival, the male (later identified as Michael Bray) entered the Les Schwab Tire Center store and hid in the bathroom.  

Bend Police Officers conducted a clear of the business with the assistance of Bend Police K9 “Vegas.” Officers located Bray hiding in the bathroom and placed him under arrest. Due to COVID protocols at the Deschutes County Adult Jail, Bray was released with criminal citations (see below charges). No one was injured in this incident.

Bray was issued citations on the following charges:

 

Burglary in the Second Degree, ORS (Oregon Revised Statute) 164.215 (A)

Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, ORS 164.272

Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, ORS 164.345
