Incident: Luring a Minor for Sexual Conduct

Suspect: Roger Clint Lee Vanwormer, 27-year-old male, Bend
On July 27, 2021, Bend Police Detectives identified Roger Clint Lee Vanwormer as someone trying to contact a person he believed to be a 14-year-old female. The contact happened through a social media app and the conversation was between Roger Vanwormer and a Bend Police Detective, who Roger Vanwormer believed to be a 14-year-old female. During the communication, Roger Vanwormer had a conversation that was sexual in nature and agreed to meet the juvenile female to engage in sexual intercourse with her. During the course of their communication, Roger Vanwormer sent explicit photos of himself to the juvenile female.
Bend Police Detectives, Bend Police Patrol Officers with the assistance of Deschutes County Parole and Probation Officers, took Roger Vanwormer into custody at Albertson’s north parking lot. Roger Vanwormer is on supervision through the Deschutes County Parole and Probation Office as he is a dangerous, high-risk level III sex offender.
Roger Vanwormer was arrested without incident and taken to the Deschutes County Adult Jail where he was arrested on the following charges:
Online Sexual Corruption of a Minor in the first degree
Luring a Minor
Attempted Unlawful Contact with a Child
Parole Violation
