Incident: Death Investigation

Location: 344 SW Shevlin Hixon Drive, Les Schwab Amphitheater

 

Deceased: Damon H. Roberson, 49-year-old male, Bend transient

The Bend Police responded to check the welfare of a male who was on the stage at the Les Schwab Amphitheater.  Bend Fire and Rescue arrived and attempted lifesaving efforts, however it was determined he was deceased.

In reviewing video surveillance cameras in and around the Les Schwab Amphitheater Damon Roberson’s death is determined to be accidental and no foul play is suspected.

Bend Police worked closely with the Old Mill who were able to access the video surveillance quickly to assist with our investigation.

Narrative:

On Saturday, November 23, 2019 at approximately 0836 hrs. the Bend Police Department, as well as the Bend Fire Department, responded to the Les Schwabb Ampitheatre (344 SW Shevlin Hixon Dr.) on a citizens report requesting a welfare check on a male subject at this location who was unresponsive.

Bend Police and Fire arrived on scene and determined the male subject was deceased.  A death investigation was initiated, which included a closure of portions of SW Shevlin Hixon Drive.

The investigation revealed nothing suspicous in nature and no foul play is expected.  SW Shevlin Hixon Drive was reopened for traffic at approximately 1400 hrs.  

Identity of the deceased male is being withheld at this time while notifications are being made.
