Update on this crash investigation:

Deceased Driver:  Derrek Wesley Finnell, 33 year-old Bend Resident

Reference Case #18-359085

At this time the investigation has determined that Derrek Wesley Finnell was the driver of the pickup inolved in this crash.  The involved vehicle was a 2005 Ford F250.  There is no driver toxicology information available at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.

Date/Time of Incident:  Sunday, 11-18-18, 9:51 PM

Location:  61600 Block of Fargo Lane

Multiple residents in the area reported a single vehicle, rollover crash.  Arriving officers found a crashed pickup truck, resting on its top, in the driveway of a residence.  Bend Firefighters responded and extricated a deceased male driver from the vehicle. 

A preliminary investigation indicated that the crash did not involve any other persons or vehicles.  The pickup truck appeared to have been traveling north on Fargo Lane when it left the roadway, struck objects on the shoulder and rolled over.  Based on evidence at the scene, speed appears to have been a factor in this crash.  The driver’s name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.  The crash remains under investigation and attempts will be made to determine if alcohol or drugs contributed to this crash.
