Bend Police looking for help locating missing Bend woman (Updated Narrative 03/01) (Photo) - 03/01/18

Sara Diana Gomez 24 year old Bend resident

Suspect:

Bryan Michael Penner 31 year old Bend resident

Updated Narrative (March 1st @ 1:00pm):

During the course of this investigation, we have found information that has led detectives to believe there could be evidence related to Sara Gomez's disappearance east of Bend. We are asking residents who live east of Hamby and Ward Roads to check their property for anything suspicious. We are asking to check abandoned structures, open fields, ponds and other water sources. We are asking for residents to check for tire tracks, shoe prints or anything out of the ordinary. If you find anything suspicious, please contact Bend Police Detectives at 541-693-6911.


Updated Narrative (February 24th @ 10:30pm):

The Bend Police Department is seeking assistance in this missing person investigation. If anyone saw the attached vehicle between Sunday February 18th and Wednesday February 21st, please contact Bend Police at 541-693-6911 or through our social media platforms (Facebook or Twitter).

Pictures of this vehicle have been attached to this release. The vehicle is sea foam green 2004 Chevrolet Malibu and it has a Carolina Panthers sticker on it.

Bryan Michael Penner 31 year old Bend resident

Updated Narrative (February 22, 2018 @11:00am):

Throughout the day on February 21st and into the early morning hours of February 22nd, Bend Police Officers and Detectives continued the investigation into looking for Sara Gomez.

Bryan Penner, a former boyfriend of Gomez, has been identified as a person of interest into Gomez's disappearance. Detectives executed a search warrant at Penner's residence on February 21st. Penner's residence is located in an apartment complex in the 1800 block of NE Purcell. During the warrant execution, evidence was located that is believed to be linked to the disappearance of Gomez.

Penner was taken into custody and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail on charges of Kidnap II, Theft II and Restraining Order Violation (Gomez had an active Restraining Order on Penner).

This investigation is ongoing and further searches are planned. We are continuing to ask for the community's help in locating Sara Gomez.

Narrative:

On February 20th, a concerned friend of Sara Gomez contacted the Redmond Police Department to report that Gomez had not returned home for a few days. Redmond Police forwarded the information to us, as Gomez is a Bend resident.

Bend Police Officers and Detectives are currently trying to locate Gomez to check on her welfare. We have attached a recent photograph of Gomez to help locate her.
