Suspicious Male Taken Into Custody At Target - 02/12/18

On February 11, 2018 at 1300 hours, Officers with the Bend Police Department and Deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Target located at 63435 North Highway 97 on a report of a suspicious male. The male was reportedly holding a pitchfork as he yelled at people and began hitting a truck with the pitchfork. The male entered the truck and broke a window out of the truck after attempting to start it. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the male as he walked to a nearby business.

The male was identified as Kyle Griffin who had three out of county warrants for his arrest. Griffin was taken into custody, without incident, on the warrants as officers continued their investigation at the scene. Through the investigation, officers learned that the truck that Griffin was damaging was reported stolen out of Woodburn Oregon earlier that morning. Griffin was arrested and charged with the following crimes:

Kyle Griffin / 27 year old Damascus Oregon resident

Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle (Felony Charge)
Criminal Mischief I (Felony Charge)
Disorderly Conduct II (Misdemeanor Charge)
Three out of county warrants (1 felony Warrant) (2 Misdemeanor Warrants)
