Armed robbery at the Super 8 Motel (Photo) - 01/10/18

Earlier today, we put out information regarding our attempts to locate Ryan Simpson. Around 3:00 pm detectives were able to locate the area where Simpson was staying. They were able to contact him in a passenger car during a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Motel West.

Simpson was taken into custody for Robbery I and Theft II related to the robbery from the Super 8 Motel. Based on information obtained from the arrest of Simpson and the entirety of this three day investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant to for a residence in SE Bend.

During the execution of the search warrant enough evidence was located to tie both Ryan Simpson and Scott Sullivan to the robbery at the Super 8 Motel and The Days Inn and Suites.

Simpson was lodged at the Deschutes County Adult Jail on charges for both robberies, to include Robbery I (2 counts) and Theft II (2 counts). Sullivan will have charges of Robbery I and Theft Ii added for the robbery at The Days Inn and Suites.

As this investigation has moved forward, the Bend Police Department has developed information regarding Ryan Simpson. Simpson is wanted as he was involved in the robbery at the Super 8 Motel on January 8. At this time Simpson is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Jason Lee House 36 year old Bend resident

Updated Narrative January 10:

The Bend Police has been actively investigating this incident since the time the incident occurred on January 8. Investigators learned Jason House was involved with the robbery of the Super 8 Motel and attempted to locate him on January 9.

House was located and arrested near his residence in SE Bend in the afternoon of January 9. House was arrested without incident and transported to the Deschutes County Jail. He was lodged on charges of Robbery I and Felony Criminal Conspiracy.

At this time, additional persons of interest are being sought at the investigation continues.

Updated Narrative:

The Bend Police Department continued the investigation into the robbery at the Super 8 Motel throughout the day of January 8th and into the early morning hours of January 9th. With the help from Prineville Police Department, the Deschutes County Adult Jail, Deschutes County Parole and Probation and the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, we were able to identify one of the suspects in the robbery as Scott Hilton Sullivan.

Bend Police detectives were able to locate Sullivan in the parking lot of the Rooster Deli (527 NE Bellevue Drive #100). Sullivan was contacted inside a vehicle parked in front of the business. Sullivan was taken into custody and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail for Robbery I, Theft II and for an active probation violation warrant. Detectives recovered items used in the robbery from Sullivan during the contact with him.

The investigation led detectives to the Shilo Inn Hotel, where Bend Police served a search warrant in a room. During the search warrant, additional evidentiary items related to the robbery of the Super 8 motel were located.

The Bend Police Department is committed to a resolution in this robbery, as well as the robbery that occurred at the Days Inn and Suites a day prior. The investigation into both of these robberies are continuing. Sullivan's arrest was made within 24 hours from the time of occurrence of the robbery at Super 8.

(1) 30's year old male Wearing a dark hoodie with a dark bandanna and dark jeans

(2) 30's year old person Wearing a dark hooding with a dark bandanna and dark jeans

Narrative:

On January 8 at 4:30 am, the Bend Police Department was notified by Deschutes County 911 regarding an armed robbery that had just occurred. Bend Police responded and found that two unknown suspects robbed the motel.

Bend Police have learned that there are at least two suspects responsible for the robbery. One suspect is a male in his 30's wearing dark clothing. The other suspect is an unknown gender but believed to be in their 30's and wearing dark clothing. One of the suspects displayed a dark colored handgun and took an undisclosed amount of US Currency. The suspects also took the female employees personal property when leaving the business.

Bend Police, with the help of the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, checked the area after the suspects left. Officer Uballez and his K9 partner, "Kim," checked the area without finding the suspects.

During the investigation we were able to obtain video surveillance footage. Still photographs from the footage is included in this release.
