News Release

Planned Firefighter Training Nov. 2 Will Produce Large, Visible Flames (Photo) - 10/29/26

Community members may see large flames and smoke near Bend Fire & Rescue’s North Station, 63377 NE Jamison St., on Nov. 2 between 5 and 8 p.m. as part of a scheduled training exercise. There is no emergency associated with the activity.

Bend Fire & Rescue, in partnership with the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST), will conduct specialized flammable liquids training Monday evening, which includes the use of a live-fire prop that produces a very large, highly visible flame.

The flames may be visible from Highway 20 and the neighborhoods surrounding the station. Bend Fire is sharing this information in advance so community members know the activity is part of a planned training exercise and do not need to call 911 to report the flames or smoke associated with the training.

Training like this gives firefighters an opportunity to practice responding to incidents involving flammable liquids in a controlled environment.

MEDIA ADVISORY

Members of the media are invited to attend the training for photo and video opportunities and to learn more about how firefighters prepare for flammable liquids incidents.

Training details:

  • Date: Nov. 2

  • Time: 5 - 8 p.m.

  • Location: Bend Fire & Rescue North Station, 63377 NE Jamison Street, Bend
