News Release

Fire Destroys Vacant Mobile Home On South Queens Drive (Photo) - 09/02/26

At 12:43 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, Bend Fire & Rescue responded to a reported structure fire on South Queens Drive in southwest Bend.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found a heavily involved mobile home with fire coming through the roof. Firefighters quickly put water on the fire and stopped spot fires from spreading in the nearby brush.

The mobile home was vacant with no known occupants or reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The fire resulted in a total loss, with damage to the contents and structure estimated at $25,000.

Bend Fire & Rescue would like to remind community members that even with the rain and cooler temperatures, the region remains at extreme fire danger. Outdoor debris burning is closed for the season in Deschutes Rural Fire Protection District #2 and will not reopen until later this fall. Debris burning is never allowed in Bend city limits per ordinance. Recreational campfires, cooking fires and warming fires are typically allowed year-round. Never leave a fire unattended and always keep a water source or fire extinguisher nearby in case the fire spreads. Learn more at bendoregon.gov/burninginfo.
