Small Brush Fire in City of Bend Caused by a Weed Burner (Photo) - 06/04/20

Bend Fire and Rescue crews responded to a small brush fire in the City limits caused by the use of a weed burner. The fire causght several bushes and one juniper tree on fire. The crews were quickly able to extinguish the fire before it extended to any houses or other structures. Bend Fire & Rescue have been getting many calls from the community in the past few weeks regarding the use of weed burners. We would like to remind the community that weed burners are not allowed in the City limits at any time. Currently, burning season is closed in our surrounding rural areas, this also includes the use of weed burners. Even though we have gotten some moisture in our area in the past few weeks, the fuel moisture is still low.
