BELLEVUE, Wash. — On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 6:00 pm, at Sammamish High School, experts from local, state, and federal organizations will provide a comprehensive look at the dangers of fentanyl and opioids in our community and include thought-provoking presentations, extensive questions and answers, and parents sharing how opioids have impacted them personally.

Presenters will include representatives from the federal Drug Enforcement AdministrationYouth Eastside Services (YES), the Bellevue Police Department, BSD's Safety and Security and Mental Health Assistance Teams, and local public health agencies. This comprehensive information night will give families additional knowledge to help support their students and keep schools and communities healthy and safe.

This presentation is free and open to the public, with financial support from the Bellevue Schools Foundation(BSF). "We are stepping up to provide $34,500 in resources for the Bellevue School District to combat the fentanyl crisis head-on. We believe the investment is critical to ensure students, educators, and our entire community have the tools to safeguard our schools," says BSF's Executive Director Juliet Buder.

The Bellevue School District, with over 18,000 students and 28 schools, is a diverse and dynamic district in East King County, Washington. Its mission is "To serve each and every student academically, socially, and emotionally through a rigorous and relevant education that is innovative and individualized. As a learning community that values one another's humanity, we provide courageous support for equitable and exceptional education for all students."
