Bellevue School District Welcomes Shannon McMinimee As Interim General Counsel - 01/06/22

BELLEVUE, Wash. — The Bellevue School District is pleased to welcome Shannon McMinimee as its Interim General Counsel. McMinimee joined BSD’s executive team, Tuesday, January 6, 2022.

McMinimee received her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Washington, with Honors in Law. With over 20 years of experience in the legal sphere, she has represented a number of school districts and private practices. Most recently, McMinimee has served as a partner at Cedar Law PLLC, representing students, families, employees, and schools on disability, employment, and civil rights issues.[CM1] 

“Shannon is an excellent attorney, an experienced general counsel, and a strong advocate for students at all times," said Bellevue School District Interim Superintendent, Dr. Art Jarvis. 

The Bellevue School District, with nearly 20,000 students and 29 schools, is diverse and dynamic in East King County, Washington. Its mission is "To serve every student academically, socially, and emotionally, through a rigorous and relevant education that is innovative and individualized.
