Beaverton Police Investigating Menacing Incident

On Monday, May 18, 2026, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers with the Beaverton Police Department responded to the report of a possible menacing incident near the Beaverton City Library located at 12375 SW 5th Street in Beaverton.
Investigators learned the reporting party was involved in an incident where a male suspect allegedly revealed that he was armed with a handgun, causing the reporting party to fear for their safety and contact police.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white male in his 50s wearing a gray sweater and jeans. Officers later identified the suspect as 46-year-old Antonio C. Pirog, a current candidate for Beaverton City Council Position 5.
Mr. Pirog was arrested by Beaverton Police detectives around 9:00 p.m. yesterday evening on charges of Menacing and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Investigators are continuing to gather evidence, including surveillance video and witness statements.
