Beaverton Police Arrest Suspect In April Shooting On SW Denny Rd / HWY 217 (Photo)

Officers from the Beaverton Police Department have arrested a suspect connected to an April shooting on SW Denny Rd west of HWY 217 in Beaverton, Oregon.
On April 10, 2026, at approximately 1:03 A.M., officers responded to reports of a shooting on SW Denny Rd just west of HWY 217 in Beaverton, Oregon. Thirty-seven year old David J. Oliver of Portland allegedly followed a coworker from their place of employment in Portland in response to an argument they had while at work. Oliver allegedly shot a single round from a handgun into the driver’s side door of the victim’s vehicle, who was the sole occupant at the time. The bullet, which was later retrieved by police, had lodged in the driver’s side door panel; never striking the victim.
On May 15, 2026, Beaverton Police Detectives executed search warrants in Gresham and North Portland with the assistance of Portland SERT and East Metro SWAT. During which time Oliver was located and safely taken into custody without incident.
Oliver was lodged at the Washington County Jail on charges of Attempted Murder II, Attempted Assault I, and Unlawful Use of a Firearm. He is expected to have his first appearance in court on Monday.
