Motorcyclist Dies Following Crash In Beaverton

Beaverton, OR – On March 30, 2026, at approximately 8:57 p.m., officers with the Beaverton Police Department were dispatched to a reported crash involving a Hyundai Elantra and a Ducati motorcycle near the intersection of SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway and the Highway 217 egress toward SW Canyon Road.
Beaverton Police officers and emergency medical personnel from American Medical Response (AMR) and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVF&R) arrived shortly thereafter and began lifesaving efforts. Despite those efforts, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at 9:11 p.m.
The rider has been identified as 25-year-old Joel Theodore Hanson of Beaverton, Oregon.
Witness statements and initial evidence indicate the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and maneuvering between lanes prior to the crash. The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) responded and is continuing the investigation. The investigation has been forwarded to the Washington County District Attorney’s Office for review, as is standard in fatal crashes.
The Beaverton Police Department reminds all road users to drive attentively, obey traffic laws, and be mindful of speed, especially at intersections.
