Male Arrested For Robbery - 05/16/18

On May 12, 2018, Beaverton Police officers, with the assistance of citizens, arrested 34-year-old Christopher T. James for Robbery in the Third Degree.

At 2:23 p.m. Beaverton Police officers responded to Shari’s Restaurant regarding a theft suspect who was being held down by citizens. Officers arrived and detained Mr. James to relieve the citizens who were holding him down.

Witnesses stated the theft victim had just won money playing video lottery at Shari’s. Witnesses told officers Mr. James stole the winnings from the victim and then tried to flee the scene on a bike. Witnesses stated the victim grabbed Mr. James to keep him from leaving. Witnesses said Mr. James struck the victim in the head as he tried to flee, which made the victim fall to the ground. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. Officers were able to recover all of the victim’s money.

Mr. James was taken to Washington County Jail and charged with one count of Robbery in the Third Degree.
