CORVALLIS, Ore. – On Friday, February 10, 2023, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) Deputies responded to a two-vehicle single-fatality crash on Highway 99W near the Corvallis Airport.
A 2006 Chrysler 300 was traveling northbound on Highway 99W, a two-lane roadway, passing vehicles. The Chrysler crashed nearly head-on with a southbound 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT. The 18-year-old male driver of the Mitsubishi was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 33-year-old male driver of the Chrysler sustained injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
During the course of the investigation, impairment is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
The Benton County Crash Team was assisted on scene by the Corvallis Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Highway 99W was closed for approximately 3.5 hours to investigate the crash.
