Traffic Violation Leads to Drug Arrest (Photo) - 01/20/23

CORVALLIS, Ore. On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at approximately 1:05 a.m. a Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) Deputy stopped a Chevrolet Silverado on Alta Vista Drive near Grant Avenue in the city of Corvallis for a traffic violation.

Upon further investigation the driver of the vehicle, Katherine Eva Stark, 48, of Corvallis was found in possession of approximately 130 grams of methamphetamine. This amount is over 65 times higher than the violation threshold for methamphetamine possession in Oregon.

Stark was transported to the Benton County Jail where the investigation continued and was cited for DUII (drugs), Reckless Driving, Felon in Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of Methamphetamine.

BCSO would like to remind drivers to never drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Call 541-766-6858 to report suspicious activity including that involving the use or distribution of drugs or suspected driving under the influence. If you see something, say something.
