The Benton County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse is hosting their annual horseback ride event for children with special needs and their siblings. The event is at the indoor arena of the Benton County Fairgrounds on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. and is sponsored by Sheriff Jef Van Arsdall.
The children are helped on to the horse and led around the arena. Special accommodations are in place for mounting/dismounting and safety while on horseback. Riders must be 3 - 18 years of age and be able to hang on by themselves.
Photographs are taken in front of a green screen and printed with a western background to give to the child. They will also be available online after the event for those who give permission to post them. A release form is required for all riders and will be available at the event registration table. No pre-registration needed.
