In order to avoid any confusion, the public is being notified ahead of time. The exercise is closed to the campus community and to the public.

Traffic control will be in place at the intersections of: Crescent Valley Drive and Lewisburg Avenue, Lewisburg Ave and Highland Drive, Crescent Valley Drive and Highland Drive.

This event will help assure a coordinated, timely and effective response and recovery in the event of a major incident at schools in Benton County. “We have all seen the devastating impact to students, parents, schools and communities that have experienced threats on school campuses. “Thankfully, we have not had a major school incident in Benton County. However, it is important to train, anticipating what could happen, so that we can respond appropriately. ” said Undersheriff Greg Ridler, “I am encouraged that so many of our law enforcement and fire agencies in the county are coming together to be better prepared and work in a coordinated effort for community safety.

Local agencies participating in the training include the Corvallis Police Department, Corvallis Fire Department, Albany Police Department, the Philomath Police Department, Philomath Fire Department and the Oregon State Police.
