CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Ricky Ray Ferguson, 54, was booked and lodged at approximately 11:30 p.m., at the Benton County Jail on Saturday night. He was charged with Manslaughter I, Assault II, Reckless Driving, Hit & Run Vehicle-Injury, and Tampering with Evidence.
Our Office continues to seek information from people who saw Ferguson's white, 2004 Ford F250 pickup truck, Oregon license plate 377 JQR, on January 12-13. We know Ferguson stayed in the Philomath area for a significant period of time after the incident. He stopped at a numerous roadside locations to work on his vehicle and alter its appearance.
The living victim, Allan Deutsch, 85, of Corvallis, remains in the Intensive Care Unit at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. Robert Ozretich, 70, of Corvallis, was struck and killed on impact and taken directly to a local funeral home.
Ferguson was located within four hours of the incident with help from our community. Witnesses are asked to call Sergeant Iverson at 541-766-6858 with vehicle information.
