Guinness World Records Event (Photo) -07/13/23
Retired Deputy Fire Marshal Bob Brooks is challenging his 2011 Guinness World Records fire patch collection at the Linn County Fair & Expo Center. The free event is open to the public August 4, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Bob Brooks has been collecting fire department patches for nearly 45 years. The United States has approximately 25,000 fire departments and every day that number changes due to consolidations, mergers, and new departments. What started with one patch from the Kingsley Fire Department in Klamath Falls, Oregon, has now become a World Record. Bob says, “My goal is to represent every fire department in the United States by collecting and placing their shoulder patch in the Oregon Fire Service Museum. I want to share this collection and our history with everyone.”
The display will include over 14,000 fire service patches. Albany Fire Department will also be present at the event. For additional questions, please contact Bob at Firebucketbob@msn.com
