AYSO Shed a Total Loss (Photo) - 01/12/20

Albany Fire Department responded to a structure fire at Timber Linn Memorial Park at 4:28 a.m. today, Sunday, January 12, 2020. Crews found an American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) shed and City of Albany Parks and Recreation storage structure on fire.  The fires were extinguished by 4:52 a.m. with no injuries to firefighters.

The shed belonging to AYSO is a total loss.   The shed and contents are valued at approximately $7,000.  The organization has insurance but is unsure what will be covered.   A garage and shipping container that contained City athletic field and park maintenance equipment were damaged.  City officials secured the structures and estimate damages could be over $10,000.

Albany Fire investigators are examining evidence found at the scene.  Anyone who was in the area of Price Road or Blue Ox Drive S.E. between midnight and 4 a.m. and saw individuals or vehicles near the Timber Linn parking lot should contact Fire Marshal Lora Ratcliff at 541-917-7700.
